The Soldier of War.

Welcome to In Flames a website about the beautiful Sailor Mars also known as Hino Rei/ Raye Hino from Bishoujo Senshi Sailor Moon. A quiet, lonely character in the manga, and an aggressive fireball in the Anime. This site seeks to bring a new perspective on a character who has been explored on the internet so many times. Perhaps this site will drown in a sea of contemporaries and an outdated topic, but I hope that perhaps some will enjoy this self-indulgent project on the soldier of war and fire. This website was created on a whim starting on March 29th 2009, when I finally read the Sailor Moon manga from start to finish. It is a part of the Empty Cage Network, and was built exclusively by me, Kae. If you have any questions, comments or errors to report don't hesitate to e-mail me.

I started building In Flames after a bolt of nostalgia hit me and I read the entire Sailor Moon manga in about two sittings. I had never been able to settle on a favourite senshi before, often citing Sailor Venus, or Sailor Uranus as my preferred character. But after reading through the manga for the first time I found myself pretty firmly in the Sailor Mars camp. She was graceful and distinguished. A loner, and perhaps a bit snide and sarcastic what was there not to love? Sailor Mars was, in total, an elegant lady one who was not going to be pushed around or fall for any man who stumbled across her. She was perfectly unique and admirable.

After reading the manga, I got to thinking making a small character site would be fun, just something quick but filled with details, thinking I'd be drowned in the number of Sailor Mars fansites out there. Turns out, there were only a few still in existance, go figure. So, In Flames was born. I hope it's not too redundant for you, and if it is I don't care, I made it for me.

Updates.

Just noticed I have 97 hits from Deep Submerge -- thank you so much to the people who have visited probably one of the youngest Sailor Moon sites on the internet. Hehe! Most of the people on that directory have been around since the late 90s early 2000s making me feel like the baby of the family. As for updates, I opened up affiliation on the 'Internet' page and wrote out at least the start of the 'Anime Personality' section. I know I'm going really slow on this, but I'm taking my time and enjoying the journey. Lovelove.
